Amitabh Choudhary

Amitabh Choudhary, former BCCI acting secretary, a veteran administrator and a distinguished IPS officer, died of a heart attack in Ranchi on Tuesday morning. He was 62.

Choudhary, an IIT Kharagpur alumni, is credited for transforming the cricketing landscape in Jharkhand and building the infrastructure to boost grassroots cricket in the state.

MUMBAI: The power skirmishes between the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators and the "old guard" of the Board of Control for Cricket in India continues. The CoA on Sunday issued a show-cause notice to Amitabh Choudhary, acting secretary of the BCCI, over his absence during the International Cricket Council's (ICC) conference in July. The ICC conference was scheduled from July 14 to 20.

MUMBAI: BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary on Monday said the board is trying its best to ensure all matches of the 2019 edition of the Indian Premier League take place in the country. The dates and venues of the IPL have not been announced yet as the BCCI is awaiting the schedule of the 2019 general elections as they would definitely clash with the cash awash Twenty20 tournament.
