Vedanta Youth Cup, Goa 2019 concludes

PANAJI: The inaugural edition of the Vedanta Youth Cup, Goa 2019 concluded Sunday with Reliance Foundation Young Champs emerging champions of the inaugural edition of the tournament, which brought together the best corporate football academies of India. 

In the final, Reliance Foundation Young Champs edged out JSW Bengaluru FC by a 2-1 margin.
 
An initiative of SESA Football Academy, the invitational tournament featured four youth football academies – Tata Atletico Football Academy, Reliance Foundation Young Champs, JSW Bengaluru FC and SESA Football Academy and marked the first time that these academies got the opportunity to come together and participate in a competitive tournament at the Under-18 level. 

All the visiting corporate academies along with Vedanta’s SESA Football Academy are leading the development of football at the grassroots level in India and as such have contributed immensely to the development of the Indian football ecosystem. 
 
Annanya Agarwal, president of Sesa Football Academy, said: "Vedanta Youth Cup Goa 2019 has set a benchmark in terms of competition and youth development in the country. All the teams have delivered a stellar performance on the pitch. My congratulations to Reliance Foundation Youth Champs team for an outstanding display and emerging as champions of this edition, but I feel Indian football is the real winner today (Sunday).”
