JOHANNESBURG: The National Basketball Association Tuesday announced that former US President Barack Obama Former has bought a minority stake in the NBA’s Africa business through his Obama Foundation.

Obama will help advance the league’s social responsibility efforts across the continent, including programs and partnerships that support greater gender equality and economic inclusion. Over time he intends to use the equity stake to fund his foundation's youth and leadership programs across Africa.

JOHANNESBURG: The National Basketball Association (NBA) Monday announced the formation of NBA Africa, a new entity that will conduct the league’s business in Africa, including the Basketball Africa League (BAL) – a partnership between the NBA and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and the NBA’s first collaboration to operate a league outside of North America.

NEW YORK: The National Basketball Association Monday named Victor Williams CEO of NBA Africa, effective August 17, it was announced by NBA commissioner Adam Silver.
