Olympic flame

TOKYO: After a year-long delay, traversing 46 prefectures over 106 days, the Olympic flame has finally arrived in Tokyo; the flame will embark on a two-week tour around the city before it will be used to light the Olympic Cauldron at the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 on 23 July 2021.

The Olympic flame has arrived in Tokyo for the final two-weeks of its 120-day relay around all 47 prefectures of Japan.

TOKYO: The Olympic flame for Tokyo 2020 touched down in Japan early on Friday to start its 121-day Olympic Torch Relay journey around the country, bringing a message of peace and hope to the world. The flame was transported by a special aircraft “Tokyo 2020 Go” from Athens, Greece, and arrived at Japan Air Self-Defence Force (JASDF) Matsushima Air Base in Miyagi Prefecture shortly before 10am local time.
