MELBOURNE: This weekend's WBBL matches will proceed as scheduled after fruitful negotiations between Cricket Australia and the Tasmanian government, with Hobart in the grip of a COVID-related snap three-day lockdown.

Four Weber WBBL|07 games are scheduled to be played at Blundstone Arena across Saturday and Sunday, and while all will go ahead, no crowds will be allowed to attend.

MELBOURNE: The 2021 Men’s Australian Open and the 2022 Women’s Australian Open have been cancelled as the Covid-19 pandemic and resulting travel restrictions continue to play havoc with international golf in Australia and around the world. Golf Australia announced the decision today, saying that it would begin planning for a return of the two Opens in the 2022-23 summer of golf.

MUMBAI: India's upcoming tour of New Zealand has been postponed to next year as the Kiwi cricket board struggles to host multiple teams for their home summer.  The reason cited for the postponement of the tour, comprising of three ODIs, has been put down to the latest MIQ (Managed Immigration And Quarantine) allocation released by the New Zealand government.

LONDON: Indian cricket team head coach Ravi Shastri has tested positive for COVID-19, following which he was put in isolation, officials said Sunday. According to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Shastri, along with three support staff he had been in close contact with have been kept in isolation.
