MUMBAI: Disney+ has a launch date in India. Sunday, March 29, the day IPL 2020 kicks off, is when Disney's on-demand streaming service will make its bow in the Indian market.
Disney+ will be made available through Hotstar — which Disney owns through its acquisition of 21st Century Fox — with both Hotstar VIP and Hotstar Premium being rebranded to ‘Disney+ Hotstar'.
In a quarterly earnings call with analysts, Disney chief executive Bob Iger made the announcement on Tuesday.
