LAUSANNE: The International Boxing Association (AIBA) has faulted the decision of the International Olympic Committee's Boxing Taskforce to cancel the world qualifying tournament and to postpone the European qualifiers, arguing that the plan to instead allocate quotas based on rankings was "fair and democratic only in theory".
AIBA, suspended by the IOC for alleged administrative and financial mismanagement, asserted it was possible to conduct the event and that more thought should have been given to finding an equitable solution.
