Khelo India Centre of Excellence

NEW DELHI: The Union Sports Ministry has dedicated a total of 75 Khelo India Centres (KICs) to the state of Uttar Pradesh across 75 districts.

These centres will be entrusted with one sports discipline each as per the proposal of the UP state government. It was also decided that the sports disciplines recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports shall be eligible for Khelo India Centres.

NEW DELHI: Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday virtually inaugurated eight Khelo India State Centre of Excellence (KISCE), including one in Nagaland. The KISCE inaugurated in other states are Karnataka, Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala, Manipur, Mizoram, Odisha and Telangana.

NEW DELHI: The Union Sports Ministry has approved six centres as the Khelo India Centre of Excellence (KISCE) and they will now be upgraded on a consolidated budget estimated at Rs 673.2 million for FY 2020-21 and subsequent four years in an effort to identify and groom Olympic level talent, ANI reports.

NEW DELHI: The Union Sports Ministry is set to upgrade eight Khelo India State Centre of Excellence (KISCE) at an estimated cost of Rs 951.9 million with an aim to identify and groom future Olympic champions.  Eight states that have been approved for setting up of KISCEs in the first leg are Odisha, Mizoram, Telengana, Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala.
