NEW DELHI: In an unprecedented action, the Union government has chosen to deny visas to the Pakistani cricket team to travel to India for the T20 World Cup for the Blind. 

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) said that the team could not get clearance from India’s Ministry of External Affairs.

The tournament was slated to begin here Tuesday onwards, but with Pakistan denied participation, it has been delayed while a revised schedule is drawn up.

LAHORE: Pakistan’s participation in the upcoming FIH Odisha Hockey Men's Junior World Cup Bhubaneswar 2021 has been confirmed after the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) said that the Indian High Commission had issued the visas required for its squad. PHF secretary Asif Bajwa confirmed to local media that 80% of the visas for the Pakistan squad had been received on Monday, and the remainder on Tuesday.

NEW DELHI: Even as the uncertainty over Pakistani wrestlers' participation in the upcoming Asian Championships here was finally cleared after they were granted visas by the Union government, Chinese grapplers have not been granted visas due to the coronavirus outbreak there, a top official of the national federation said on Monday.

NEW DELHI: The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) confirmed on Wednesday that the Pakistani contingent will be granted visas to participate in the Asian Junior Championships, which will take place from July 17 to 22 in the city, Press Trust of India reports.  However, an undertaking has been signed which will restrict the movement of the "enemy country’s" contingent to just the competition venue.
