NEW DELHI: In a new dawn for the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI), a fresh set of faces are set to take charge of the body after elections concluded in New Delhi Tuesday. 

TTFI elects Meghna Ahlawat as its first woman president, eight-time national champion Kamlesh Mehta takes over as the new secretary general and Patel Nagender Reddy is the treasurer.

NEW DELHI: The Indian "tradition" of politicians controlling sports bodies was again on show Wednesday as the Table Tennis Federation of India unanimously re-elected Haryana’s deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala for another four-year term as president at the TTFI AGM held in Panchkula. Pertinently, for all the 22 posts for which elections were held, the house vote was unanimous.

MUMBAI: The Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) has decided to bid for the 2024 edition of the biennial World Team Championships. TTFI secretary MP Singh told PTI the time has come for India to host a high-profile event. The last time India hosted a world championships was way back in 1987. “We will be bidding for the 2024 edition in which 32 teams will take part,” he said.
