MUMBAI: Sports entertainment company Smaaash on Friday said it has clocked a 22% growth in revenue at Rs 3 billion in calendar year 2019.

A third of the revenue came from food and beverage operations, an official statement said.

Over 5 million people visited its 41 stores in 19 cities during the year, it said adding that it manages over 650,000 square feet of space at present.

BARCELONA: FC Barcelona is the first sports club in the world to surpass the $1 billion mark in revenues.   This was announced here by club CEO Oscar Grau, while presented the budget for the 2018/19 season. For the 2017/18 season, which ended on June 30, FC Barcelona declared revenues of $1.05 billion (€914m).

LONDON: Europe's ‘big five’ football leagues generated a record €14.7 billion ($17.4 billion) in revenue in the 2016/17 season, a 9% increase on the previous year, according to the 27th Annual Review of Football Finance from the Sports Business Group at Deloitte.  Overall, Deloitte estimates the European football market to now be worth €25.5 billion.

HONG KONG: Chinese sportswear major Anta Sports Products announced Tuesday said it saw a 29.4% year-on-year growth in net profit for the year ended December 31, 2017 to 3.09 billion yuan ($488.16 million), booking a record annual profit for a third straight year.

LONDON: Premier League giants Manchester United reported total revenue for the first quarter at £141 million ($186.55 million) – a 17% jump over income for the same period in the previous fiscal.  Net profit for the period stood at £7.9    million, a 558.3 per cent jump over the £1.2 million achieved in the prior year quarter.
