LPGA tees off expansive partnership with Legends

NEW YORK: The LPGA, one of the longest-running women’s professional sports associations in the world, Monday announced an expansive partnership with Legends, a data-intelligence-fueled global premium experiences company, to drive fan engagement and growth. 

Legends Golf, a division of Legends that leverages the company’s holistic services for partners in the golf industry, will lead the partnership utilizing the expertise of the company’s global merchandise and technology solutions services.

LPGA Shanghai canceled over COVID-19 travel restrictions
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.: The LPGA announced Wednesday that the 2021 Buick LPGA Shanghai, scheduled to be held Oct. 14-17, stands cancelled "further to the guidance of our partners, the China Golf Association".  Reason: On-going COVID-19 related travel restrictions.

COVID forces cancellation of LPGA's Evian Championship
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.: Due to ongoing travel/border restrictions and government quarantine requirements as part of the COVID-19 pandemic, the LPGA Tour and The Evian Championship announced Tuesday that the tournament, scheduled for August 6-9, will not take place in 2020. The major championship will return to the LPGA Tour schedule in 2021 at Evian Resort Golf Club in Evian-les-Bains, France.

Women's Evian golf major, European events pushed forward
PARIS: The Evian Championship, one of five women’s golf majors, in consonance with the decisions of the LPGA and LET, has moved the dates of its 2020 tournament. The Evian Championship will be held at the Evian Resort Golf Club from 6 to 9 August, beginning a run of European golf events, that include the Ladies Scottish Open and the Women’s British Open.

Ladies European Tour announces merger with LPGA
LONDON: The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) and the Ladies European Tour (LET) announced they would unite in a 50-50 joint venture partnership to push women’s professional golf in Europe and around the world.  LET players voted their support for the joint venture partnership on Tuesday during the LET’s Annual Membership Meeting in Spain.
