NEW DELHI: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday presented the last big budget before her government returns to the polls in 2024’s general elections, and introduced a slew of measures meant to cater to as wide a spectrum of the voting populace as possible.

Specific to sports, in a year when Indian athletes will compete at the Asian Games and prepare for the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Union Sports Ministry has received its highest-ever budget allocation of Rs 3,397.32 crore.

NEW DELHI: The Fifth Khelo India Youth Games - 2022 will be held in Madhya Pradesh. The games will be held from 31st January to 11th February next year. This was announced by Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur at an event in New Delhi in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

NEW DELHI: Khelo India Youth Games 2021 will be organised from 4th to 13th June.  Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur virtually interacted with Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal at the Organizing and Coordinating Committee Meeting to review the preparedness of the games.

NEW DELHI: After two postponements, the fourth edition of the Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) 2021 is expected to finally be delivered in Haryana by the end of March.  All the preparations have reportedly been completed. The national youth championships were originally scheduled to take place in November-December last year and were later pushed to February.

NEW DELHI: Even as India is still to come to grips with the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has been raging unabated across the country, the Union Sports Ministry appears confident that the Khelo India Youth Games can go ahead this year. And has even sanctioned Rs 206.7 million in funds for designated host state Haryana.

NEW DELHI: The Union Sports Ministry has approved the inclusion of four indigenous sports, including Gatka and Kalaripayattu, in the Khelo India Youth Games 2021, scheduled to take place in Haryana. The other two games included are Thang-Ta and Mallakhamba.

GUWAHATI: Assam's financial capital Guwahati will play host to the third edition of Khelo India Youth Games in January next, state chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal said while chairing the first high-powered review meeting here Thursday.   Sonowal said the state machinery, including sports bodies, should make the best innovation for successfully organising the games in the city.

NEW DELHI: Despite controversies surrounding its eligibility courtesy the Sports Ministry, the Archery Association of India (AAI) has announced that the national qualifying championships for the Archery World Cup will be conducted from 15-19 April in the city, Press Trust of India reports.
