MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday invited applications for the women’s team head coach’s job. 

Current coach WV Raman’s contract had expired last October but the former India cricketer was asked to continue till the recently concluded home series against South Africa, Sportstar reports.

As for the notice issued by the BCCI, the term of the coach who is finally selected will be for two years.

MUMBAI: The BCCI is looking to schedule a tour of Sri Lanka for the Indian Women’s team after the women’s IPL (challenger series) to be held from November 4-9 in the UAE.  "There is a bright chance that India will be travelling to Sri Lanka after women's IPL for a three-match ODI and three match T20 series," a senior BCCI source told PTI on condition of anonymity.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday shortlisted ten names for the position of the head coach for the Indian women's team head coach, ANI reports. The shortlisted candidates include Venkatesh Prasad, WV Raman, Brad Hogg, Ramesh Powar, Dimitri Mascarenhas, Trent Johnson, Herschelle Gibbs, Gary Kirsten, Manoj Prabhakar and Kalpana Venkatachar.

MUMBAI: Westland Publications announced Monday that it will be publishing the first-ever book on history of women's cricket in India which will be up for sale on 30 November, Press Trust of India reports. The book, titled 'The Fire Burns Blue: A History of Women's Cricket in India', is co-authored by sports journalists Karunya Keshav and Sidhanta Pathak.

MUMBAI: The BCCI has appointed Ramesh Powar as head coach of the Indian Women’s Team. Powar has now been handed over full time duties till 30th November.  His term will include the tour to Sri Lanka in September, a bilateral series in West Indies in October followed by the ICC Women’s World T20 in West Indies in November.
