After drawing IOC flak, IOA to move on CEO appointment

The Indian Olympic Association, which has been dragging its feet for more than a year on the International Olympic Committee's demand that it appoint a professional chief executive, will finally re-initiate the hiring process after being called out by the IOC. 

The IOA executive council, which met in Mumbai on Tuesday, decided to issue a new advertisement for the post. The CEO will be an ex-officio member of the IOA executive council without voting rights.

Asian Games contingent: IOA adds sports climbing, bridge; top heavy on officials
NEW DELHI: The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) confirmed on Friday that the Indian contingent for the Asian Games will increase from 524 to 551 as it will be sending teams to participate in the sports climbing and bridge events of the competition, Times of India reports.  Sports climbing will be represented by 3 athletes while 24 of them will be a part of the bridge team.

IOA taps Borosil as hydration partner

India yet to clear eSports squad for Asian Games
CHENNAI: While the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) is all set to send 524 athletes and confirmed its participation in 36 sports at the Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta this August, it is expected to take a decision on India’s eSports squad within a few days, New Indian Express reports.

IOA draws up 900-member contingent for Asian Games
NEW DELHI: The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) will be finalizing a list of approximately 900 members, including players and officials by June 30 that will be travelling for the Asian Games in Indonesia from August 18 to September, Press Trust of India reports.  From a provisional list of 2,370, the IOA will be trimming down the list in consultation with the Sports Ministry.
