MUMBAI: Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) bagged the exclusive media rights to broadcast Roland-Garros between 2022-24. 

The deal, spanning over three years, provides SPN with exclusive TV and digital rights of Roland-Garros. The broadcaster will televise Roland-Garros on its sports channels across India and the subcontinent including, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan & Maldives, and will also be available to live-stream on their premium OTT platform, SonyLIV.

PARIS: The French Open organisers have announced that the three main showcourts at Roland Garros will have up to 1,000 spectators in attendance during the first 10 days of the 2021 tournament, with the number to be increased from the quarter-finals onward.

PARIS: The French Tennis Federation (FFT) announced Thursday that Roland-Garros will be pushed back one week due to restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will now be played from 30 May through 13 June. Last year, the clay-court Grand Slam was moved from its traditional dates to 27 September-11 October because of the pandemic.

PARIS: The Roland-Garros 2020 tournament, which will be held from 21st September to 11th October, announced Thursday that ticket sales will open on Thursday 9th July.  The French Tennis Federation – in close collaboration with the French government authorities - has prepared a protocol that aims to protect spectators attending this historic edition of Roland-Garros.

FRENCH TENNIS FEDERATION (FFT) President Bernard Giudicelli confirmed on Tuesday that 2020 edition of the French Open will take place this year.  The entire tennis season has been ravaged due to coronavirus pandemic but Giudicelli remains hopeful of hosting the second slam of the calendar year, IANS reports.

PARIS: The French Tennis Federation (FFT) will shortly launch a relief fund totaling ‎€35 million ($38m) next week, with ‎€1 million for French players ranked between No. 101 and 500 in the rankings. As announced by the federation, ‎€21m will go to French tennis clubs, while a further ‎€9m will be given to players, officials and events affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Teaching professionals will get ‎€5m.

NEW DELHI: The French Tennis Federation (FFT), organisers of Roland-Garros, the world’s premier clay court tournament, in association with the All India Tennis Association (AITA), Tuesday announced the sixth edition of the ‘Roland-Garros Junior Wild Card Series by OPPO’.  The series will be held at the clay courts of the Delhi Lawn Tennis Association (DLTA) from 24th-26th February.
