HERZOGENAURACH, Germany: PUMA and Formula 1 have signed an agreement which will make the sports company the official supplier at F1 races, granting the brand the right to produce F1 branded apparel, footwear and accessories. 

PUMA will also equip F1 staff at track and create F1 fanwear that targets the sport’s different audiences with lifestyle and motorsport collections. The contract includes exclusive rights to sell F1 fanwear and fanwear of all ten teams around the race circuit starting 2024.

LONDON: Formula 1 CEO Chase Carey has provided an update to fans on the latest developments on the 2020 F1 calendar, including a target start date and location.  Although it was announced Monday morning that the French Grand Prix, due to take place in late June, will not be going ahead, "we are now increasingly confident with the progress of our plans to begin our season this summer", Chase said.

LONDON: Formula 1’s rulemakers have approved a motion to extend the shutdown period by a further two weeks, as the world continues to battle the coronavirus pandemic. Last month, governing body the FIA opted to bring F1’s traditional summer shutdown period forward to the spring and extend it by seven days to three weeks.

LONDON: The Azerbaijan Grand Prix has become the latest race of the 2020 season to be postponed, the organisers have announced. Officials from the Baku City Circuit said on Monday: "The postponement was agreed upon after extensive discussions with Formula 1 as well as the FIA and the Government of the Azerbaijan Republic.

LONDON: Formula 1 Friday announced the launch of a new F1 Esports Virtual Grand Prix series, featuring a number of current F1 drivers.  The series has been created to enable fans to continue watching Formula 1 races virtually, despite the ongoing COVID-19 situation that has affected this season’s race calendar.

MONACO: For the first time since 1954, Monaco’s streets will not echo to the sound of F1 machinery after the Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM) announced the cancellation of this year’s Monaco Grand Prix. It had earlier been announced that the race had been postponed, along with the Dutch and Spanish Grands Prix, but the ACM have since clarified that “with great sadness” the race will be cancelled.

LONDON: Formula 1's summer shutdown period has been brought forward and extended in response to the coronavirus outbreak. The break, which is usually two weeks in August when the teams must cease all race and car-related activity for the full fortnight, has been moved to March and April. And while the shutdown normally lasts two weeks, the revised break will this year extend to 21 days.
