‘Maradona’ brand gears up to set foot in India

As a legion of Indian fans rejoice in Argentina's World Cup glory, a brand named after football legend Diego Maradona is all set to enter the country under a licensing deal.

The association would enable the 'Maradona' brand to venture into different product categories through strategic partnerships with companies, head honchos of the Indian company that has acquired licensing rights in India for Maradona brand merchandise told PTI.

Goa govt to install life-size statue of Diego Maradona
PANAJI: The Goa government will install a life-size statue of late Argentine football legend Diego Maradona in the coastal belt of North district by early next year, a senior minister in the Goa government confirmed Wednesday. Maradona's statue is already under making with a Maharashtra-based artist working on the mould, Calangute MLA and state Ports Minister Michael Lobo told PTI.
