Broadcast Audience Research Council India

MUMBAI: The Broadcast Audience Research Council India has appointed Bavan Matthews as head of People Operations and Ashish Gupta as BARC's chief financial officer.

Matthews joined the audience measurement body in March, e4m reports. Prior to BARC, he was with Kantar South Asia as a human resource business partner. 

Gupta joined BARC India in April from International SOS where he was CFO for India & Regional Projects.

MUMBAI: The share of ads featuring a sports celebrity, as against a film celebrity, has gone up 3% in Indian Premier League 2020 - from 14% during IPL 2019 to 17% in the recently concluded 2020 edition.   As per the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India data, this IPL has witnessed a 3 per cent growth in the ads featuring sports celebrities versus Bollywood celebrities.

MUMBAI: Television rating agency Broadcast Audience Research Council India (BARC) has set itself a target of expanding its meter homes up to 44,000 by the end of the ongoing financial year, up from the current 33,000.
