NEW DELHI: The most powerful cricket body in the world has yet again been forced to eat humble pie after falling at the wrong end of the stick on the legal front. Needless to say, it is a seriously expensive pie. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly ready to cough up compensation of over Rs8 billion to IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala for terminating its contract in 2011, a massive mark-up on the Rs3 billion the team's promoters were initially willing to settle for.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the schedule for TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, which will be held in Mumbai and Pune.  A total number of 70 league matches and 4 Playoff games will be played over 65 days.  The 15th season will start on 26th March at the Wankhede stadium with a blockbuster clash between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders.

Among the items on the agenda that the council will reportedly decide on is the fate of the Col CK Nayudu Trophy and the Senior Women’s T20 League. MUMBAI: The Ranji Trophy, India's premiere red-ball domestic cricket tournament, is all set to return after a one-year Covid-induced gap.
