ATP Challenger Tour

NEW DELHI: The All India Tennis Association (AITA) has announced that the country would host up to four ATP Challenger Tour events in early 2023. 

The tennis events will mark the return of the ATP Challenger Tour to India after a two-year gap. The last ATP Challenger event held in India was the 2020 Bengaluru Open.

BENGALURU: The Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association has reportedly decided to postpone the Bengaluru Open, an ATP challenger event, originally scheduled for February next year.  The KSLTA will be contacting the ATP "soon" to seek a slot for the tournament in the second half of the season, New Indian Express reports.

BENGALURU: The Bengaluru Open will make a comeback to the annual tennis schedule, becoming one of the biggest ATP Challenger tournaments in Asia with organizers declaring the total prize money to be $150,000, Press Trust of India reports.

LONDON: The ATP Challenger Tour - the second rung of the men's tennis ladder - will undergo wholesale changes from 2019 that will further professionalise the sport, unlock significant investment and growth in prize money at the lower levels of men’s professional tennis, and lead to a greatly enhanced player pathway, the ATP has declared.

BARCELONA: The ATP Challenger Tour will return to the city of Mallorca in Spain for the first time in 21 years as World No.1 tennis player, Rafael Nadal’s academy is all set to play hosts to the event which will take place from August 26 to September 2. The tournament will be called inaugural Rafa Nadal Open Banc Sabadell and will be a $50,300 hard court event.
