LONDON: Jamie Reigle has been named as the new chief executive Officer of Formula E with immediate effect, as series’ founder Alejandro Agag transitions to chairman ahead of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship’s most competitive season yet. 

With a proven track record in executive roles, growing the Manchester United brand in new territories and most recently driving business operations with the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL, Jamie Reigle will now lead the charge at Formula E and propel the business forward in his new leadership role.

MUMBAI: Formula E has categorically ruled out the prospect of India hosting a race of the electric car championships due to the same tax troubles that forced Formula 1 to shut shop in the country, Press Trust of India reports. The declaration comes from Formula E founder and CEO, Alejandro Agag despite India being represented strongly by Mahindra Racing since the 2014-15 season.

MUMBAI: Alejandro Agag, the CEO and founder of Formula E, has reportedly made a €600 million ($716 million) bid to gain the entire ownership of the electric racing series, according to motorsport.com. Agag wrote a letter on Friday to the chairman of the board of directors, requesting approval for his interest so that he has greater influence over running the sport in the future.
