New dates for U-17 Women's WC being discussed: Praful

NEW DELHI: All India Football Federation (AIFF) president Praful Patel has confirmed that the local organising committee for the U-17 Women's World Cup 2020 are in discussions with world body FIFA to finalize the new dates for the tournament as well as to maintain the original age criteria of the participating players. 

The tournament was to be held in India in November but has been postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Patel posted on his officla Twitter handle: "I am happy to inform that we are working with FIFA to set a new and earliest possible date to host the Under-17 Women's World Cup. Local Organizing Committee (LOC) and FIFA are working to finalize the new dates keeping health and safety a priority. #U17WWC @IndianFootball @FIFAWWC"
