NEW DELHI: The upcoming biopic on one of India’s greatest cricketers and 1983 World Cup winning captain, Kapil Dev, will release on August 30, 2019.
The film titled ’83, which has Ranveer Singh in the lead role, is being directed by Kabir Khan (of Ek Tha Tiger fame) and is produced by Reliance Entertainment.
“Mark your calendar! ‘83 will be releasing on August 30th, 2019. ‘83 stars @RanveerOfficial. Directed by @kabirkhankk. @FuhSePhantom @83_thefilm," reads a tweet from Reliance Entertainment posted Sunday.
The official announcement for the biopic’s release was made in September last year, but reports suggest the film is not expected to go on floors till mid-2018, Hindustan Times reports.
