Oz basketball team to play five match series against Kerala

MUMBAI: Australian basketball outfit - the Ringwood’s Lady Hawks - will be in India in November to play a five-match series against reigning Indian national champions Kerala.

Christened the 2017 International Hoopathon series, the 10 day event has been organised by Team Rebound and the Kerala Basketball Association. The visiting team will play against Kerala in five games at five different venues across southern India.

According to the Australian Herald Sun, The Lady Hawks visit will be the first time an Australian basketball team  has travelled to the sub-continent.

The publication quotes Hawks coach Tim Mottin as saying, "We recruited Geethu Anna Jose, India’s greatest ever female player, back in 2006 to play for the Hawks. She was a terrific player and person and we always thought it would be great to play some games over there one day.”
