DSport acquires India rights to PGA Championships

MUMBAI: DSport, Discovery Channel's sports channel that launched earlier this year, has acquired long term India broadcast rights of the PGA Championships, Golf’s fourth and year-ending Major.

The 99th PGA Championships is set to be held at the Quail Hollow Club in North Carolina, which will host a Golf Major for the very first time, between August 10-13, 2017. The club holds an annual event on the PGA Tour, the Wells Fargo Championship, besides having hosted several pro-events.

156 golfers, including India’s Anirban Lahiri are set to tee-off at Quail Hollow on 10 August 2017.

The channel recently appointed former Hathway Video Business head TS Panesar to lead DSport.
