The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday felicitated the U19 Women’s team following their victory in the Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa.
India, captained by Shafali Verma, won the inaugural edition of the tournament after beating Grace Scrivens’ England by seven wickets in the final at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom.
At a felicitation ceremony in Ahmedabad, a cheque of Rs 5 crore was presented to the Indian women's team by cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.
