MUMBAI: India’s estimated sports audience base is a staggering 678 million (67.8 crore), according to a new study. Cricket, football & kabaddi are the top 3 sports, with audience base of 612, 305 & 208 million respectively.

These are some of the key findings published by media consulting firm Ormax Media, which Wednesday released its latest research report titled The Ormax Sports Audience Report: 2024.

MUMBAI: The VIVO Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) hasn’t got off to the best of starts in terms of viewership in its first 24 matches this season. According to BARC India’s report, in 2017, 344.7 million people in the country tuned into the Star TV Network to watch the matches, as compared to 237.2 million people this year, a massive drop of 107.5 million.

MUMBAI: Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) partnered with the Cricket Association for the Blind of Maharashtra (CABM) as sponsors for the SPN Challenge Trophy 2018, a state level tournament for the blind. The tournament was held between 8-10 October at various venues including Islam Gymkhana, Parsi Gymkhana and Police Gymkhana in Mumbai.

Concurrently, the Indian auto major will extend their commercial support to Pro Kabaddi franchisee UP Yoddha as principal sponsor for the second consecutive year.
