MUMBAI: Match No. 32 of IPL 2022 between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings, which was shifted from MCA Stadium in Pune to Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai due to COVID-19 outbreak in the DC team, finally went ahead on schedule. 

The developments came even as a second overseas player of Delhi Capitals tested positive. This came just hours ahead of the team's game against Punjab Kings. 

New Zealand's Tim Seifert tested positive after a Rapid Antigen Test conducted on Wednesday afternoon, making it the sixth such case in the camp.

MUMBAI: The Indian Premier League is very much on, the BCCI insisted Monday, even as leading Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and three Australian players announced their withdrawal from the IPL amid the escalating COVID-19 crisis in India. "As of now, IPL is going ahead. Obviously, if anyone wants to leave, that's perfectly fine," a senior Board official told PTI on conditions of anonymity.

MUMBAI: Media will not be allowed to cover the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) directly from the venues due to the worrying upsurge in COVID-19 cases across the country but if the situation improves the restriction will be lifted, the BCCI announced on Thursday. The IPL is in any case out of bounds for fans and will be held behind closed doors.
