MUMBAI: The country-wide surge of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus has reportedly got the BCCI working on Plan B to host the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League entirely in Mumbai. The start of the IPL could also be advanced by a week.

The announcememt Friday comes in the aftermath of Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta and Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi testing positive for the coronavirus. The Premier League also confirmed that matches will be rescheduled ‘when it is safe’ to host matches in the country.
