T20 World Cup for the Blind

NEW DELHI: In a welcome development, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has given clearance for the issuance of visas by the Ministry of External Affairs for the Pakistani contingent to participate in the the T20 World Cup for the Blind, which India is hosting.

It bears noting that till Tuesday, which was when the tournament was slated to kick off with Pakistan, who are the top-ranked team in the world, was scheduled to play their opener against South Africa, there had been no word from the External Affairs Ministry on the matter.

NEW DELHI: In an unprecedented action, the Union government has chosen to deny visas to the Pakistani cricket team to travel to India for the T20 World Cup for the Blind.  In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) said that the team could not get clearance from India’s Ministry of External Affairs.

BENGALURU: The Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) Friday announced Yuvraj Singh as brand ambassador for the 3rd T20 World Cup for the Blind, to be held in India.
