NEW DELHI: In a first, digital streaming of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) matches has shattered all previous records in terms of response from both advertisers and viewers, JioCinema, the official streaming partner of IPL matches, has asserted.

JioCinema has roped in 26 big ticket sponsors for the tournament. This is the highest number of sponsors any sporting event that is streaming on digital has received, an official press release declares.

The gross gaming revenue from fantasy sports during the 2023 edition of the TATA Indian Premier League season could reach up to Rs 2,900-3,100 crore, growing at 30-35% over 2022, a study by Redseer Consulting estimates. The number of transacting users during the 2023 IPL season is expected to be around 68 million, a 25-30% growth over the last season. Around 80% of the users are expected from the smaller cities.

The Foxtel Group has extended its exclusive broadcast rights in Australia of the TATA Indian Premier League until at least 2027. The renewed five-year deal will see 74 matches made available to its 4.6 million subscribers each season across Foxtel and Kayo Sports.

Sky Sports, the incumbent rights holder in the UK for the TATA Indian Premier League in the previous three-year cycle (ending 2022), has agreed a deal to broadcast live the 2023 edition of world cricket's richest annual tournament.   The tournament begins on Friday March 31 as defending champions Gujarat Titans face four-time winners Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

DUBAI: evision, the media and entertainment arm of e&Life, has acquired the MENA exclusive broadcast rights for the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, starting on March 31. IPL 2023 will witness 70 league matches across 12 venues over 52 days. The top four teams will compete in the play-offs, with the final taking place on May 28.

Grover took to Twitter to announce the same. Ahead of the upcoming season of the TATA Indian Premier League, IPL TV rights holder Disney Star will be taking two of its regional language Star Sports channels off air, while simultaneously launching two others. Effective midnight, March 15 (Tuesday-Wednesday), Star Sports 1 Tamil HD and Star Sports 1 Telugu HD will start beaming, while tar Sports 1 Marathi and Star Sports 1 Bangla will go off air.
