Hero I-League 2021-22

KOLKATA: Gokulam Kerala held onto their nerves and created history by becoming the first-ever side to win two successive Hero I-League titles after their win against Mohammedan SC, here at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan Stadium on Saturday night. 

A narrow 2-1 victory on hostile territory saw the Malabarians win the game and win the title with a six point advantage, also ending Mohammedan’s seven-game unbeaten streak in the process.

KOLKATA: It wouldn’t be a Hero I-League season if it didn’t go to the final day. For the sixth time in the last eight seasons, the trophy will be decided on the last Matchday as Mohammedan SC take on Gokulam Kerala FC at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Saturday, 14 May at 7:00 PM.

NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Wednesday rescheduled the timings of the Phase 2 fixtures of the ongoing Hero I-League 2021/22 season following calls by the Football Players Association of India (FPAI) to move the games due to intense heatwave conditions in West Bengal.

NEW DELHI: In view of the health parameters set by the Government of West Bengal in accordance with the Ministry of Health, fans will be allowed in selected stands and sections in stadiums for the Hero I-League 2021-22 from the second round which kicks-off from April 22 onwards. Fans have already been allowed in stadiums for various other sporting events in the country.

KOLKATA: The Hero I-League 2021-22 season is set to resume on March 3, after being temporarily suspended due to a Covid outbreak.  Sunando Dhar, CEO, Leagues and Development, explained the reasons to halt proceedings in January and looked ahead to the restart.

NEW DELHI: The Hero I-League 2021-22 season is all set to resume on Thursday, March 3, with Sreenidi Deccan FC taking on TRAU FC at the Mohun Bagan Ground at 2 pm IST. The I-League will be played across three venues in West Bengal – Mohun Bagan Ground in Kolkata, the Naihati Stadium in Naihati, and the Kalyani Municipal Stadium in Kalyani.

NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation League Committee on Monday decided to postpone the Hero I-League by at least six weeks after a fresh COVID-19 outbreak hit the participating teams inside the bio-bubble. I-League was suspended for a week last Wednesday after COVID-19 breached its bio-bubble. Eight players and three officials had tested positive last week.

NEW DELHI: The Hero I-League 2021-22, which is all set to kick off from December 26 in three venues in and around Kolkata, will have the widest geographical spread spread to date. The upcoming edition will feature 13 teams from 11 cities.   The Mohun Bagan ground in Kolkata, the picturesque Kalyani Stadium and the Naihati Stadium are the three venues that will host the latest edition of the I-League.

NEW DELHI: All clubs participating in the forthcoming edition of the Hero I-League 2021-22 will be checking into the bio bubble from December 16. There will be relegation from this season, which means there won’t be any qualifiers for 2022-23. And the 2nd Division League will be played on a home and away basis from 2022-23 onwards, health parameters permitting.
