Broadcast Rights

Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has acquired the television and digital rights to broadcast and stream all New Zealand-based Blackcaps and White Ferns matches into India and associated territories for the next seven years.

It bears noting that SPNI’s digital rights in India will be co-exclusive with incumbent rights holder Amazon Prime for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons. 

While financial details were not disclosed, Economic Times reported that the deal value was in the $90 million to $100 million ball park.

MUMBAI: Indian digital sports platform FanCode will exclusively livestream the upcoming Rugby World Cup 2023 in India.  Rugby World Cup 2023 will take place from 8 September - 28 October with matches played in nine venues across 10 host cities. The tournament will be the 10th men’s Rugby World Cup and the second to be hosted by France after a memorable event in 2007.

The auction for media rights of the Board of Control for Cricket in India is scheduled to take place on August 31. And with the hopeful (on BCCI's part) kite flying reports on Amazon and Google's possible play in the bidding proving dead in the water, it's the expected three left in the running.

ATLANTA: YuppTV, an OTT South Asian content provider, Tuesday announced that it has secured broadcasting rights from Disney Star, the global rights holder, for the 16th edition of the Asia Cup 2023.  The cricket tournament will be played in the One Day International (50-overs) format between August 30 and September 17.

MUMBAI: Digital sports platform FanCode has acquired exclusive broadcast rights in India for the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.  The event will be streamed live from August 25 to September 10. The World Cup will be held in the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia - the first time that multiple countries will be hosting the event. Five venues across the three countries will be hosting the games.

DUBLIN: The first and second Men’s T20 Internationals between Ireland and India are now sold out, with the third match selling quickly, Cricket Ireland has announced.  All three T20Is will be played at ‘The Village’ Malahide Cricket Club Ground which has an official seating capacity of 11,500. Meanwhile TNT Sports has been confirmed as the Ireland / UK broadcaster of the series.
