MUMBAI: The 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League will see the return to IPL's pre-Covid-19 era format of teams played home and away games.  "The next season of men's IPL will also go back to the home and away format with all ten teams playing their home matches at their designated venues," BCCI president Sourav Ganguly confirmed in a note to state units.

MUMBAI: The BCCI has reportedly earmarked a March 2023 window to launch its women's IPL and is expected to discuss modalities at the annual general meeting of the Indian cricket board in September.  Much of the planning around the tournament will be around the sale of media rights, ESPNcricinfo reports.

MUMBAI: Punjab Kings would be "more than interested" if they are offered opportunity to own a team in the proposed Women's IPL next year, franchise co-owner Ness Wadia said on Monday. The IPL governing council, which met in person for the first time in almost two years here Friday, decided to make "all efforts" to start a six-team annual Twenty20 tournament for women cricketers.

MUMBAI: India aims to launch a women's edition of the Indian Premier League in the next three years, a top official said Tuesday. As part of the build-up, top international women players will take part in a Twenty20 exhibition game at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium ahead of the IPL play-off on 22 May at the Wankhede cricket stadium in Mumbai.
