NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation Annual General Body Meeting, which was held via video conferencing on Monday, December 21, unanimously passed a resolution that the present executive committee under the leadership of AIFF president Praful Patel should continue functioning till the Supreme Court provides a suitable direction for AIFF to hold its elections.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court, on Wednesday, December 9, decreed it would continue hearings on the proposed amendments to the Board of Control for Cricket in India's constitution in the third week of January. Restricting itself to procedural matters, the apex court DID NOT take up hearing the BCCI's application seeking amendments to its constitution.

NEW DELHI: A final verdict from the Supreme Court on a matter it has already adjudicated on twice but has chosen to revisit yet again (emphasis ours) - reforms in Indian cricket administration - may be a long way off still (emphasis ours yet again), but at least now there is a date when the hearings will resume.

A plea has been moved before the Supreme Court by AIFF president Praful Patel and the rest of the federation's executive committee members seeking permission to continue in office until a pending case is adjudicated.

NEW DELHI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has filed a petition requesting the Supreme Court to take up the case on extension of tenure of its office-bearers, Telegraph India reports. While BCCI secretary Jay Shah will have to go into compulsory cooling-off period next month, board president Sourav Ganguly’s term ends in July. Both were elected unopposed on October 23, 2019.
