Salman Khan's kin buy LPL franchise; all 5 teams sold

MUMBAI: Bollywood star Salman Khan's family has bought the Kandy Tuskers franchise in the upcoming Lankan Premier League (LPL), reports Time of India.

The tournament that saw its player draft conducted over the last two days is slated to kick off its inaugural edition on November 21.

Salman Khan's younger brother Sohail and father, noted script-writer Salim Khan, are part of the consortium - Sohail Khan International LLP - that has made the investment.

COLOMBO: Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has has taken steps to strengthen anti-corruption measures at the venues where the domestic T20 League 2018 is being played and the hotels, which the players are stationed, after it was noted that suspicious individuals were present at the match venues such as in Dambulla during a league game between Galle and Kandy on Saturday.

COLOMBO: Sri Lanka’s proposed T20 league suffered a setback after the IPL templated franchise-based tournament was indefinitely postponed. Russel Arnold, former international cricketer and tournament director of the proposed Sri Lankan Premier League, tweeted that the tournament has been postponed.
