MUMBAI: Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) Tuesday confirmed that it has extended its exclusive global media rights to broadcast Sri Lanka Cricket matches for the next four years until March 2027. 

SportzPower had reported the development early last month. 

Additionally, it bears noting that as per Sri Lankan media reports, $21,204,117 is what Sony has committed for the four-year rights tenure, which is a drop from the reported $22.5 million the network paid in 2020 for acquiring three-year rights for international cricket played in the Emerald Isles.

COLOMBO: Sri Lanka Cricket Friday announced plans to launch its T20 League with the participation of Sri Lankan and International players. "The tournament will be known as 'Lankan Premier League (LPL)', and will be played from 18th August to 10th September, 2018," said SLC chief executive Ashley De Silva.

COLOMBO: India-based sports management company ITW Consulting has acquired in-stadia advertising and sponsorship rights from Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) for its upcoming Nidahas Trophy 2018 tri-series that also features India and Bangladesh. Nidahas Trophy 2018 will include seven International T20’s from 6th – 18th March at Colombo's R Premadasa Stadium in.

MUMBAI: Discovery branded sports channnel DSport has acquired the broadcast rights of the 2018 Nidahas Trophy, to be organised by Sri Lanka Cricket and also featuring India and Bangladesh. The 2018 Nidahas Trophy will be played from 15-30 March. The T20 tournament is being played to celebrate Sri Lanka’s 70th year of independence.
