MUMBAI: Mumbai-based popular Indian gaming and entertainment centre operator Smaaash Entertainment Pvt Ltd, which had shuttered operations in the latter half of 2020 due to a severe downturn in business as a fallout of the Covid-19 pandemic, is back up and running. 

The company, which counted cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar as its brand ambassador pretty much from inception, used to operate in more than 40 locations across 19 cities in India and was a popular hangout for urban teens and tweens before coronavirus lockdowns and fears forced them indoors.

MUMBAI: Sports entertainment company Smaaash on Friday said it has clocked a 22% growth in revenue at Rs 3 billion in calendar year 2019. A third of the revenue came from food and beverage operations, an official statement said. Over 5 million people visited its 41 stores in 19 cities during the year, it said adding that it manages over 650,000 square feet of space at present.

MUMBAI: Smaaash Entertainment Private Limited, the Indian virtual sports and entertainment firm controlled by serial entrepreneur Shripal Morakhia, is planning to raise anywhere between $25 million (Rs 1.75 billion) and $30 million (Rs. 2.1 billion approx) from investors in the USA, Economic Times reports.
