Sky Sports, the incumbent rights holder in the UK for the TATA Indian Premier League in the previous three-year cycle (ending 2022), has agreed a deal to broadcast live the 2023 edition of world cricket's richest annual tournament.
The tournament begins on Friday March 31 as defending champions Gujarat Titans face four-time winners Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Leading European digital sports platform DAZN has reportedly acquired media rights for the Indian Premier League in the UK market for the next five years.
According to a report in UK's Daily Mail, DAZN has sublicensed a part of the IPL rights to ITV, which will be telecasting 16 matches on free-to-air TV in the UK, with the sports streamer taking the other 58 games, including the semi-finals and final.

The International Cricket Council has announced a new long-term deal with UK pay TV broadcaster Sky Sports in the United Kingdom and Ireland through to the end of 2031, and for the first time there will be a direct contractual relationship between the two organisations.
The renewed partnership starts in 2024 and runs until 2031.

MUMBAI: The Indian Premier League will switching back to Sky Sports in the UK for the next three seasons after the (now) Comcast-owned satellite broadcaster sealed an exclusive agreement with (now) Disney-owned global media rights holder Star Sports.
