BENGALURU: Tamil Nadu has become the second south Indian state after Andhra Pradesh to ban online games played with money, by way of an ordinance promulgated by Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Friday. 

A day after Tamil Nadu issued its order, the Karnataka government said it too was considering banning online gaming in the state. 

According to a release issued by the Tamil Nadu government, the move was done because innocent people - which they said were mainly youngsters - “are being cheated” and that some people have also died by suicide.

NEW DELHI: The Narendra Modi-led Union cabinet on Wednesday approved an ordinance that permits the setting up of India’s first national sports University in Manipur, IANS reports. The university is said to cost Rs 5.24 billion and the campus will be spread over 325 acres in the Imphal West district.
