A top International Olympic Committee official announced  on Thursday that the IOC is in talks with ten potential bidders to host future Summer Olympic Games.

LAUSANNE: 92% of permanent venues used for the Olympic Games in the 21st century, and 85% of all permanent Olympic venues since 1896 remain in use, creating wide-ranging benefits for residents in Olympic host cities and regions. This number was revealed Friday by a new report from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), released at the IOC Session held remotely from Lausanne.

NEW DELHI: India is among a host of countries interested in hosting the Olympic Games in 2036, 2040 and even beyond, International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Thomas Bach has said. The IOC recently announced that the city of Brisbane will host the 2032 Summer Games.

DUBAI: With world cricket's "big daddy" BCCI fully on board, the ICC has confirmed its intention to push for the inclusion cricket in the Olympic Games going forward, starting preparations for a bid on behalf of the sport with the primary target being its addition to the Los Angeles 2028 itinerary. A Working Group to lead the bid has been assembled by the ICC.

LAUSANNE: The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Wednesday announced that the Olympic Games and Olympic Winter Games will be “climate positive” from 2030 onwards.  In addition, the IOC will create an “Olympic Forest”, which will contribute to the UN-backed Great Green Wall project in Africa and help the IOC move towards becoming a climate-positive organisation.
