MUMBAI: All India Football Federation president Praful Patel has announced the formation of a three-member committee to look into the legal aspects of AIFF elections of office bearers, which the federation has been kicking down the road citing legal problems for around 14 months now.

NEW DELHI: Questions around governance will never be too far away from Indian sporting bodies and so it is proving with the the All India Football Federation. A plea has been moved before the Supreme Court by AIFF president Praful Patel and the rest of the federation's executive committee members seeking permission to continue in office until a pending case is adjudicated.

NEW DELHI: In a Special General Meeting (SGM) that was conducted by the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) over the weekend to decide on two major issues pertaining to the functioning of the body, the tenure of the presidency of Ajay Singh and the office-bearers was extended by three months while the constitution was also unanimously amended in order to comply with the requirements of the National Sports Code 2011.

NEW DELHI: Former Hockey India president Mohd. Mushtaq Ahmad, who resigned after his election was declared violative of the National Sports Code by the Union Sports Ministry, on Tuesday said the "belated decision smells (of) bad intention" as other violators have not been penalised.

NEW DELHI: A week after the Equestrian Federation of India sent a letter to the Sports Ministry, asking to be exempt from certain provisions of the National Sports Code, Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju on Thursday reiterated in the Lok Sabha (Lower House of Parliament) that all national sports federations (NSFs) will have to adhere to the code.
