NEW DELHI: The Centre on Tuesday asked state governments to crack down on outdoor (out-of-home) advertisements of gambling and betting platforms.

In a letter to chief secretaries of states and Union territories accessed by PTI, Information and Broadcasting secretary Apurva Chandra asked them to take "appropriate action" to curb outdoor advertisements of gambling betting platforms that are found on hoardings, banners and auto-rickshaws.

NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has constituted an Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC) Promotion Task Force to promote the AVGC sector in the country.  The AVGC Promotion Task Force will have to submit its first action plan within 90 days.

NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has given its nod for temporary live uplinking of the IPL tournament's 11th edition, whose inaugural ceremony will be held on Friday. The development came after the Board of Control for Cricket in Indian (BCCI) wrote to Union minister Smriti Irani seeking her intervention in getting the nod for live uplinking of the IPL.
