FIH elects Malaysia's Tayyab Ikram as next president

LAUSANNE: Malaysia's Tayyab Ikram was elected the new president of the International Hockey Federation at the weekend by the FIH Congress. 

Of the 126 votes submitted by the member National Associations, Ikram attained the required absolute majority of more than half the votes, receiving 79 votes to the 47 given to Marc Coudron (Belgium). The duration of the term of the new FIH president will be of 2 years in order to complete the mandate of previous FIH president Narinder Batra, who resigned on 18 July.

LAUSANNE: The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has announced the appointment of Delf Ness as marketing and communications director. Delf will take up the newly created position at the FIH headquarters here in October. The former vice-president of the DHB (German Hockey Federation) will be responsible for leading the sport’s marketing, digital and communications strategies going forward.

Hockey India confirms no HIL in 2018
NEW DELHI: Confirming news that has been doing the rounds for a while now, it was announced on Tuesday that there will definitely NOT be a sixth edition of the Hockey India League in 2018.  HIL's governing committee, comprising representatives of Hockey India and other stakeholders, are instead looking to schedule the next edition of India's only professional hockey league to an unspecified window in 2019.

FIH Hockey Stars 2016 Awards announced
