MUMBAI: Sony Pictures Sports Network (SPSN) has reached an agreement with Protocol Sports Marketing to broadcast the International Boxing Association’s (AIBA) 2021 World Boxing Championships in India and the Indian Sub-continent. 

This tournament will see India with their largest contingent at the tournament till date, with 13 boxers competing in all 13 weight classes. The matches will be telecast LIVE across SONY SIX channels and livestreamed on SonyLIV till November 6.

NEW DELHI: The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) was confirmed as the official governing body of boxing in the country by the Delhi High Court on Thursday. Earlier, the BFI had filed a petition against its rivals, the Indian Amateur Boxing Federation (IABF) over its organising of the sub-junior inter-zonal boxing championships across the country.

MUMBAI: Boxing Federation of India (BFI) President Ajay Singh was not elected to the International Boxing Association's (AIBA) Executive Committee (EC) after he was forced to skip the world body's Annual Congress in Moscow on Saturday owing to illness, Press Trust of India reports. Singh, also the co-founder of low-cost airline Spicejet, is currently a member of the Asian Boxing Confederation's EC.

NEW DELHI: The World Women’s Boxing Championships is set to take place in the capital city from 15-25 November this year with India being the host nation of the marquee event for the first time in 12 years, Press Trust of India reports. An official of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) said that all teams need to assemble in New Delhi on 13 November and the deadline for registrations is 5 October.

LAUSANNE: The  bitter power struggle that has has wracked the International Boxing Association has ended with AIBA president Ching-Kuo Wu agreeing to step down after 11 years at the helm.  The Swiss-based organisation has been riven with in-fighting for months, with Wu pitted against most of the executive committee who failed to remove him through a vote of no confidence tabled in July.
