NEW DELHI: At a time when Covid restrictions are being eased in India comes the news that the $2 million Hero Indian Open 2022, which was to be held at the DLF Golf & Country Club in Gurugram, has been cancelled for a third year running. 

For the record, the government on Thursday revised guidelines for international arrivals, removing the category of 'at risk' countries - introduced when the Omicron Covid variant emerged - and also recommending self-monitoring of 14 days for symptoms as against the current seven days of home quarantine.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Golf Union (IGU) incorporated the National Sports Code in its constitution after a fiery extraordinary general meeting (EGM) here Wednesday, The Telegraph reports. “We have successfully amended the constitution as per the demand of the sports ministry. However, it might take a few months before it comes into effect,” said outgoing president Wing Commander (retired) Satish Aparajit.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Golf Union (IGU) is divided over an EGM convened on June 6 to amend its constitution as demanded by the Sports Ministry, with a faction terming the meet ‘illegal’.  According to a report in Hindustan Times, this meet is essential in due to the Sports Ministry derecognising the federation since it failed to comply with the National Sports Code and holding elections.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Golf Union, the governing body of the game in the country, is in a quandary after the IGU lost official status as a national sports federation recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, effective April 1.

KOLKATA: The Indian Golf Union (IGU) launched the East Zone Amateur Feeder Tour here Monday. Altogether 13 tournaments will be held between March 17 and October 6 on seven golf courses spread across West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha.
