'SportzPower' View: BCCI should now shift focus to T20 WC

IN THE AFTERMATH OF THE suspension of the Indian Premier League, with the BCCI having had time to introspect, board president Sourav Ganguly has admitted that "travelling between cities could have caused the breach in the IPL's biosecure bubble".  

Speaking to Telegraph India, Ganguly also said that the BCCI will look at creating a window for the remainder of IPL 2021 ahead of this year's T20 World Cup, scheduled for October-November.

That is easier considered than delivered though, as former England captain Michael Atherton has pointed out.

PCB concerns over travel to India for T20 WC addressed
MUMBAI: The International Cricket Council has provided assurances over the concerns raised by the Pakistan Cricket Board about the participation of its team and presence of Pakistani fans at the Twenty20 World Cup that India is scheduled to host in October, PCB chairman Ehsan Mani has confirmed.   Mani made the disclosure in an interview to Pakistan's Jang newspaper on Wednesday (March 17).

BCCI looking to host 2 T20I series ahead of World T20: report
MUMBAI: The BCCI is reportedly looking to invite international teams for two short T20I tours before the World T20 that India is scheduled to host in October. Reason: so that the Virat Kohli-led side 'remains in touch with the format'. The BCCI is in touch with its counterparts in South Africa and New Zealand to figure out the modalities, The Times of India reports.

ICC demands $23m from BCCI over World T20 2016 tax deductions
NEW DELHI: In a major blow to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Saturday asked the board to pay $23 million (Rs. 1.61 billion) by 31 December as compensation for the tax deductions the governing body incurred when India hosted the World T20 2016, IANS reports.

BCCI to oppose ICC move to scrap 2021 Champions Trophy
