MUMBAI: India, long known as the epi-centre of cricket betting syndicates, has now been hit by a match-fixing scandal involving football. 

Five football clubs from the I-League are reportedly under the scanner of the Central Bureau of Investigation. As per Times of India, the CBI started a probe after it emerged that a notorious Singapore-based match-fixer Wilson Raj Perumal invested massive sums of money into the as yet unnamed clubs.

NEW DELHI: All India Football Federation’s technical committee has proposed that in order to create the most competitive team with the ultimate objective of qualifying for AFC U-19 Championship in 2018 and the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2019, a team can be selected from the current U17 World Cup squad as well as the current U-19 National Team.

KOCHI: The Manjeri football ground in the football crazy district of Malappuram in Kerala will soon be getting a facelift. I-League aspirant team Gokulam FC, semi-finalists in the Kerala Premier League, had earlier secured the Kottappady ground in Ernakulam district on a year-long contract, but has shown its preference for the Manjeri ground.
