Hero Indian Super League

Newly crowned Hero Indian Super League (ISL) champions ATK Mohun Bagan FC will be renamed as Mohun Bagan Super Giants from the 2023-24 season. 

Club owner Sanjeev Goenka made the announcement after The Mariners beat Bengaluru FC in a penalty shootout in the final at the Fatorda Stadium on Saturday to clinch their maiden ISL title.

“We were waiting on the cards. We were waiting for the [ISL final] win to announce it,” Goenka announced after the historic win.

BENGALURU: Karnataka’s minister of Youth Empowerment and Sports, KC Narayana Gowda, announced on Thursday that Sree Kanteerava Stadium, home turf of Hero Indian Super League franchise Bengaluru FC since the club's inception, will henceforth not be used for football.

PANAJI: With the COVID situation easing across the country, the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) is reportedly set to feature crowds for the first time in two years when the final of the 2021-22 season is held at the PJN Stadium in Margao, Goa, on March 20. The final will conclude the football league which kicked off last November.

NEW DELHI: The roadmap for the Hero Indian Super League, laid out September 2020, wherein relegation and promotion is to be introduced from the 2024-25 season, and leading up to that, the Hero I-League winners will get “direct slots” in the ISL from the 2023-2024 season, remains on track, All India Football Federation (AIFF) general secretary Kushal Das said on Monday.

NEW DELHI: Three Hero Indian Super League (ISL) clubs have failed to get the new license which would have given them entry to both AFC and national club competitions. Hyderabad FC, SC East Bengal and Kerala Blasters FC are the three clubs that were not handed licenses by the AIFF to be able to take part in AFC and national competitions this season, ANI reports.
